Valley of the Moon Lodge Addition is almost done. The last floor plan check set is with the client. We would love to show it to you, however our photo loader seems to be on vacation. Stay tuned -ts.
three attempts at loading up a photo and… so, “test.”
brief update: greetings from frankfort… kentucky. 1/2 of teKtoN is on the road today. just wanted to give a brief sign of life and say that work continues on wrapping up the lakeHAUS project and, very exciting for us, the valley of the moon lodge addition, or votma. we worked on a new round of schematics for votma this past weekend. we are raising up the lounge/bedroom area to maximize long-range views. the new schematic has been submitted to the owners and we are awaiting their response. stay tuned. -ts
daniel simon was just added to our “things we dig” page on the teKtoN studios site: www.teKtoNstudios.com. this galaxy or the next… happy thanksgiving!
we have been working architecture around and at the fringes of our lives. renewed interest in work (the day job), after a lull of frustration and stymied action, has kicked a new rigor and excitement into place. suddenly painting is back on the daily radar, along with a renewed wonder with art in general. writing has crawled out of the basement for another round of “lets-be-an-author.” and the photography business of the business partner is doing a lot of business in a final flurryof photos before the heavens open up and snow, rain, sleet and hail descend with a fury that stops most, and occasionally, all.
“vacation” has arrived on the doorstep cloaked in euphemistic clothing. between park and playgrounds, way too much ice cream, paper airplanes, the lego store at the local mall, and an additional four pounds in weight, the mind has been running rampant and work (in many guises) has been flying from the fingertips. stopping to smell the roses, and enjoying the laughter and smiles of the children, has been interspersed with thoughts of formal discovery, tectonics and the life and death of knowledge. nightfall has brought “table time” and moments of absorption in a world only a few, relatively speaking, pursue or understand beyond a cursory or currency related level.
perhaps it is the joy of a new project and the sense of accomplishment in wrapping up an old one. or perhaps it is the sense of being alive and fully alert after slumbering for so long. either way, it is a blessing to love one’s work. it is a blessing to equate life with work. at the end of the day, part of whatever it is can be classified as awakened architecture -even if it is at the fringe of a busy life. -ts
the valley of the moon lodge (carnation, washington) remodel and addition is under way.
